My morning Energy Drink
Every day, I wake up and add a blend of superfoods, vitamins and herbs. The most important part of this routine is consistency, and I have found that the way to do that is to purchase prescription vials and fill 30-60 at a time so you only have to clean up once. The mess takes the most time, so you will want to pre-mix your drinks. Doing this allows you to totally customize your formula. As a reminder, this is what I like to do, but the best part of this plan is that you can do whatever you want! I get my ingredients from www.bulksupplements.com. I don’t have any relationship with this company, they just save money on packaging, advertising, and flavoring. I will say that I don’t always agree with their dosing, but it would be impossible for them to recommend the right dose for every condition. Keep in mind that I have a genetic cardiovascular condition, so I use these ingredients to improve my energy and quality of life. The website has their superfoods categorized by use if you want to create your own blend.
My formula:
- 1 tsp Acetyl L Carnitine for cardiovascular health, brain health, energy, metabolism, and mood support
- 1-2 tbsp Beet Powder for exercise performance, vascular health, heart health, natural folate, energy support, liver health, gut health, and much more than I can mention here. This is a rapidly growing popular superfood, the research backs it up! Check out my whole blog just about beet powder.
- 1 tbsp Wheatgrass for kidney health, healthy iron and ferritin levels, hair / skin / nail support, and balancing the microbiome
- ½ tsp Lysine for collagen support in the joints and skin as well as viral prevention
- ½-1 tsp Theanine for calming stress reduction
- 1 tsp Ribose for energy and flavor
- 1 tsp Parsley to prevent water retention and support kidney health
Each day, I take one vial of the blended powder and add it to a liter of water and drink it throughout the morning. I save the vials to refill when I run out, and each time I refill, I modify my formula based on my needs at the time.
I love having a morning drink to restore my body for 2 reasons. First, it genuinely adds about 2 hours of energy and focus to my day. Second, the simple act of taking a moment to intentionally nourish my heart, brain, mood, energy, kidneys, skin, joints, and overall health feels good. Starting my day with self care helps me keep up good habits throughout the day. We all self medicate, so proactively self medicating with things that nourish your body feels much better than the alternatives we reach for.
