Naturalish Makeup Application
This makeup list is meant to be combined with the acne or anti-aging products mentioned in previous blogs. Once you have healthy skin, lashes, brows, and a little bit of a natural glow, it’s time to get your minimalist products to enhance your natural appearance. If this stands alone for you, you are done! As a reminder, I am not a beauty blogger or make-up expert. I spend 20 minutes getting ready (shower, skin, teeth, and clothes). I stretch products for months to a year. I have nearly 20 years of clinical experience that helps me understand active ingredients in products, as well as experience with seeing what natural products work, and where we can add a boost to natural products that need some help. I spend less on most things so I can splurge on exceptional things. I avoid foundation, on the rare occasion that I do use it.

My Makeup Routine
- I love Mineral Air. It is a little bit expensive, but I only use it on special occasions. On normal days I like to keep a clean face with a little bit of color and definition.
- First, just a small amount of a Cheek Color on the apples of the cheeks.
- Then a quick swipe of a Neutrogena Concealer Pen under the cheekbones in a color a few shades darker than the natural skin tone. I also apply it to the eyelids, add a line on either side of the nose, and a line near the hairline.
- If you get dark circles, you can also get a Neutrogena Concealer Pen that matches your skin tone to use under your eyes and nose. This quick low budget contour (still not a makeup artist) takes less than a minute, and the products easily last a year or to expiration. Quickly blend with a damp sponge or a dry blending brush.
- Next, use the Naked eye color basic Palette to apply one color (more if you want to take the time) to your lids on top of the concealer after you’ve blended it.
- Add a coat of an affordable lash extending mascara. Blend one more time, and add some highlights at the same time.
- You can highlight with natural salve like Egyptian Magic to soften your skin and add some well placed shine. One package of salve can be stretched over a year as well. It’s more affordable to buy a traditional highlighter like Glotion Skin Highlighter. Either will add some extra glow. With either, add a small amount to the eyelids, cheeks, and maybe a few other areas. I like to use glotion at night and build 2 or 3 layers, blending with a damp sponge each time. For a normal day, a healing salve is such a nice way to naturally brighten up your skin and pamper it at the same time.
- Final step, add lip color OR read to the end. First, moisturize lips with a clean, natural Lip Moisture. I have never found an all natural lip color that stays on. If you don’t mind reapplying, you can use a Natural lip color . If you want something clean enough that stays, apply a darker matte lip color that lasts all day. Immediately after, blend in a lighter all day lip color. If the blend is uneven, add another layer of Lip Moisture. Once it sets, it will last for hours and give a natural full look. If you want a fuller look and don’t want to use injections or chemical plumpers, try this Natural silicone lip plumping tool.
- The reviews are not great for this product. If you use it for 10 seconds, you will get enhanced blood flow, color, and plumping without using any products. If you leave it on until you feel discomfort, you could bruise. It’s hard to get good suction, but it works if your face is recently moisturized. If your skin is in its natural dry state, it won’t hold well. If you want to add a little more but still like to keep it minimal, use the Natural silicone lip plumper, 2 layers of Mineral Air, three layers of Glotion, use a second layer of the darker lip color before you add the light, and consider magnetic lashes.
Naturalish Self Care
Again, this routine is very fast, combines a few high end products and very affordable products so you can have a natural(ish) self care routine that will reduce your inclination to spend money and time on other cosmetic services. Most of these products last me 6 months to a year, and they never just sit in a drawer like other things I have tried.
